5/28...193.5

I recorded myself a 'lil last night and now I think it's time I find a full length mirror. Some new stuff I've been playing with didn't look like I thought. I'm going to look for one this week....

These are the only 2 clips I was wearing pants in so I figure I can share them... sneak 'em in before what I hope is a ton of new footage Detroit...

I'm not really feeling my liquids right now so if anyone could spare some time for a critique ...advice...ideas...any thoughts...It would be appreciated..

What I'm focusing on now and for the near future...

1) continous flow....way too much hand dropping going on

2) moving flow with fists....it doesn't work, breaks the illusion..stop doing it

3) bouncing.....another illusion breaker

4) moving away from my core (elbows at sides)....since I started training harder in ticking this problem has resurfaced

5) random point and splits (past the elbow)...add more for diversity... so my builds and wrist rotations won't continue to be overused

6) lines and rails...sloppy..clean 'em up or don't use 'em

7) practice....go do it now!

hey that's a really good self critique :D

also it looks like you want to do popping based body movements. learn your body positions/posture/angles and how to transition from angle to angle, level to level, as well as some footwork

ditto, i will also add that imo your waving is getting in the way of your liquid, its killing your liquid dead(with fire) actually. i think you should cut back on them drastically.

your doing it way, way too much, and the way your doing it isnt in a context of flow/liquid, theres not much transition from one to the other, rather an abrupt stop.

lastly, the waves ur doing are really basic, u seem to like it so if u do choose to not follow my first advise, you should atleast learn some variations that have more depth to them. i havent checked in awhile but i think vlad's friend dragon has some good basic sets you can drill that would help(http://www.youtube.com/user/DragonsDanceStudio), and also get you traveling around with ur waves which is another thing i think u need to be doing, keep it up bruh

Worked on liquid paths alot tonight...without using any figure eights or waves..I got alot from it.....ended up travelling a bit more which was good....At times it felt like I was jackin'  Tommys and Distortions stylins...prolly means I was....or at the least relate steppin' around with rails and paths to you guys....

Gonna keep workin' on it.....

Also, I'm gonna somewhat follow Joons practice structure for the near future and focus only on a concept or two a night ..... just without the spreadsheet....enough of that at work

I think tomorrows gonna be hides and threads....they go hand in hand to me....

...also been drillin' Houdokens 2 point flow constantly the past few weeks.....It's opening more ways for my flow to turn and flip without using my wrists......I'm hooked

.to be continued....

Practice Clip - the guys that aren't at ugs please critique if you have a minute - I don't want this up for long

Almost tried to record a "better" clip but figured that would defeat the reason I'm posting it ... I didn't want to record another bedroom clip cause of Joons statements about wanting the community to put out better clips ...    but I'm due for a service ... before I get totally off track

Theres alot I see that needs attention but Imma wait and hear ya'll first

hahah funny credits section. i'll break it down into 2 sections:

body:
i just posted about posture in my blog. i think your posture is good, but i think you need some variety in angles. i think you also need some control with those angles, so you come to nice crisp stops on beat instead of drifting around. check out the practice drill in the blog post. do that without doing liquid, and then try to do it while doing very basic, simple liquid flow. your body should dimestop in angles on beat while your flow makes continuous paths.

flow:
i htink it needs more base. i see a lot of excess movement. some interesting ideas that need refinement. i would practice each style of flow individually for a while, focusing on having perfect technique and variations. one style per practice session, don't confuse yourself or let yourself use other styles as a crutch.

so, angles, dimestops, and refine styles of flow. that's it for now, anyways.
