hi
« on: January 23, 2010, 06:30:02 PM »

ok, so i'll be honest, I haven't been really practising my liquid a lot lately.. maybe it's coz i've been working most days, or going out too much or simply just coz i'm lazy, i mean you will notice i haven't improved much since my last clip. but i will promise i am getting back into it, and will be practising much harder from now on.  =p

but heres my clip anyway, I did it yesterday. I hardly even danced to this song really, and just stuck it on and tried to with it. i'm a very lazy kid.
umm the song is a celldweller - frozen remix i'm guessing? although the name was under "Doozy" lol.

note: i really don't like the quality on this, i needa better camera, coz i swear it makes it looks worse than it already is lol

shorts in january, jealousy!

even if your busy with work i hope ur keeping liquid fresh in your thoughts, dancing in your head helps more than you know!

you had the perfect pace going for the first 20-30 secs, after that it got rushed, causing you to lose some speed control and cleanliness on ur angles, and then you went even faster towards the end ;O dont use speed to match the intensity, use intensity to match the intensity :)

the groundwork at the end was pretty dope :) but other than that i was noticing a lack of bending knee level changes

thanks tommy, that helps a lot, i've always had a pace problem, and yeah i build up too much intensity as the song progresses, definitely gonna work on that.

cheers verb n pwt :)

Nice! Even though you were going too fast, it was still fairly clean (moreso than my dancing) Loved your facial expression by the way. ;)

K finally got to watch the full thing!

favorite parts were :45 seconds and 1:15ish...

You've come a long way friend, i feel a long way.

Things to work on...when your doing your contours and maybe actually just doing your liquid in general you keep everything real close to the body.  Leave about an inch or three from your actual clothing and i think it will help strengthen the crispness of your flow.  HEAD POSITIONING!!!  Your a young dancer so this might take a while to pick up on but your head is literally locked in the same place for the better part of this clip.  Maybe focus on where your going...follow your flow, i personally like doing misdirection.  Sort of looking away from the illusion and around it.  Really dug some of the passes and throws, those are definitely new.

Keep on Keeping on dude! U rule.

great flow, liked the bit where you threw it and caught it, as well as some other parts

the big thing besides the bottom half that i noticed was that you are looking forward and down almosto the entire clip. face different directions, look different ways, watch your finger tips if you have to to keep your head moving around, but don't let your torso/head stagnate like that.

edit: beaten like umomz

First off, Great video :D. I have a couple things id like to touch on though

1. Speed control. Ok so you have the fast pace down but its monotone. Where is the variation?
2. Body control. This also goes into the looking down thing others have touched on. Make sure you are aware of yourself, where your body is, what its doing, and how its going to look in relation to your liquid. Also when moving are you being clumsy, or is it natural movement with the dance.
3. On purpose movement. This partly plays into the above two but its something others ive talked to have stuggled with in the past. Make sure your movements in and out of moves, completion of moves, ect.. are thought out and on purpose. This will help with how clean things look, and help the illusion.
