Rap and Trance....
« on: March 03, 2010, 01:41:00 AM »

Is it possible? I know some early trance tracks had a rapper/MC on them or were later remixed to feature one. I wonder if it's possible for there to be an actual sub genre of trance that could successfully merge both genres to make a music that is not impartial toward one of the two but a perfect blend... d+_+b

there was a mashup on an old glitch hop mix (i thought it was from glitchy n scratchy but i looked at the tracklist just now and couldnt find it).  it was an acapella rap track about ecstasy laid on top of robert miles children.  sounded really nice.

I liked Zyon's "No Fate" track from...I think '93. I first heard the various remixes without the rap on it. When I looked up "No Fate," on discogs and it showed an emcee named Zyon and his track record, I wasn't sure if it was a mixup or not. Then two months or so ago, almost 1 year after finding the remixed track, I found the original version on youtube with Zyon spitting verses and found out the rapper named Zyon that I found on discogs was indeed the actual artist of the track I found( Zyon- No Fate) and that none of the versions I had found under the Eye Q label were the original track with the lyrics.

Listening to Zyon's music, which sounds like a weird evolution of synth pop and electro, and his "most popular" track being on an early trance label, just made me wonder how well the two genres can mesh. :)

What do you guys think? Is the world  ready for "Ghetto Trance." haha
