Need breaks help.
« on: November 11, 2010, 08:10:20 PM »

OK I have been trying to get sober again. It is my second night with no drinking and I am getting bored. I started dancing a little bit tonight, but nothing is inspiring me musically. I tried some hiphop and rnb for popping but I am sore as fuck from workouts. Liquid and digitz with minimal leg work seems to be the only option. I am sick of dubsteep and dnb, techno and house are only kinda good now at a party where the Detroit vibe is thick. So I took to youtube, and found this.

Detroit liquid and digits circle

I am really loving those types of breaks. But not knowing anything about breaks leaves me blank when it comes fto looking for anything specific. Are the types of breaks in that video a subgenre... or are there a few artist who lean more towards making that style of breaks? Names please, I need names. DJs, Producers, subgenres, anything that will land me some breaks like those in the video.

PS. I can't believe how old those guys in that video are! They are all probably like 50 by now, liquid is like the oldest dance eva!

the closest thing to this is a genre of breaks called florida breaks. depending on what year the dj set/track your listening to is from it may or may not sound like what's on that video but the vid has that 1996-2000 florida breaks sound to it.

Yozers...not much in the know...but this is a great Chicago DJ who just recently started his journey into breaks.  Definitely give it a listen and feel free to hit up his soundcloud for tracks.
