pwt-
Have you read Blood Meridian? That was a great Cormac McCarthy book.
I'm currently reading 2 books. One is an anthology of works by Bertrand Russell. Great philosopher. David, I think I remember that you liked David Hume. I recommend this guy to anyone who likes David Hume. To me, he is the rightful successor to Hume in British "common sensical" philosophy.
The other book is Our Posthuman Future, by Francis Fukuyama. It talks about how technology will change our lives and what sort of social/political repurcussions these changes could have. If you like all the transhumanism type stuff, I highly recommend this book, not because it's the same kind of stuff, but it treats the topic with rigor and gives a strong critique of the technologies to come. It's not anti-technology, but rather cautious. If you wiki him, don't let the fact that he was a neocon put you off. Fukuyama is a really great thinker, and he writes very well (easy to digest and very insightful).
