piclens for firefox
« on: February 07, 2008, 01:51:13 AM »

so liek, i\'m not even a firefox user, i think its bloated/slow as hell and the functionality out of the box blows compared to opera.

its only saving grace is their plugin community ;[.

enter piclens: a picture browser plugin for firefox. dosen\'t sound too amazing at first, basicaly just pops up a fullscreen where u can look at a slideshow of pics that u can zoom in and either view one at a time(it loads the next in the background) or in a 3d-esque display, kinda hard to explain

anyways they recently updated piclens fixing a shitload of bugs and adding some great new features, it was just an ok thing before, but now its the shit, i\'m never going to browse deviantart and flickr again without using this. so if ur a fan of either of those sites or the other ones they support, i highly recommend you check this out

well i dont wanna get into some huge debate, but my reasons are:

firefox(especially after 2.0) got bloated and slow as hell, i used to use it just to open a single page because i would have 20-40 tabs on my opera that i didn\'t feel like opening. but then i realized ie opens much faster than firefox.  opera also loads pages(theres been benchmarks) and handles memory(the aformentioned 20-40 tabs) a great deal better than firefox.

i mentioned the plugins, firefox has come a long way with them but when it was just being released basically all their plugins were ripoffs from shit that opera has had built in for many years. aside from the plugins, opera is much more configurable that firefox. theres so many options and preferences for gui and functionality. there used to be a shitload more options in older versions but i guess they felt it was too complex for most users ;(. so i\'ve covered it being slow and not very funtional. the only thing that could possibly be left is its more secure, but i dont get hacked or download dumb shit so thats never been a problem.

P.S. try the plugin out its realy cool =\\

Well...I must agree that Mozilla eats PC memory...

But thanx for that plugin.)
