Online Cyphers
« on: November 09, 2010, 10:01:54 AM »

So Houdoken hooked up a live stream online cypher last night.  I think this is a great idea and I think its safe to say that everybody had a blast in doing it.  Verb and I both agreed today that this needs to continue to happen, so I'm starting this thread to help get started and organized.

last night was kind of spur of the moment thrown together, so there wasn't a whole lot of structure, i mean we would play with each others ideas and stuff, but i will say, digitz need to be slowed down considerably when doing them via webcam to grasp what's going on, otherwise it just looks like a blur.

Any organizational and structure suggestions?  Doing this I am assuming is still fairly new so it's pretty open much open to be whatever we want it to be.  Some days could be cyphers, others classes, maybe one day drills, we could come up with a schedule maybe?

classes and drilling is sort of the same thing, no? drilling might be good, like group motivation type thing and helping each other w/weak points, except we all probably have separate things that we want to drill. that might require a schedule?

cyphers would be fun. i think there's a slight delay between real life and the feed, so we'd have to play our own audio when it's our turn? is there a way to 'force' stream audio

i agree with the night time webcam cypher and evening hours are probably best for everyone.
and yes we can all control which track is played by muting ourselves whilst the other person plays theirs for us. i also think it would take a group vote on what to work on and when. i wouldnt mind taking the poll and organizing what days we are doing what and keep the schedule for it, as well as see who will volunteer to show what class. also i think a one min go around cypher should be held at the end of each session... but thats just my opinion might help the new heads link together what they have learned so far as well as get use to sharing their blossoming skills/ideas/concepts with us all.

tokpok worked pretty well for the group chat (slowing down is very necessary)
skype is free i havent attempted group chat on it yet...
