I'll go ahead and do a lil review here for everyone that couldn't make it out to LIB this year.
Well DoLab went and outdid themselves yet again, I thought it couldn't get much better than last year, how wrong I was!!
There were so many homies in the house spreading music literally everywhere! Renegade systems all over the place ontop of the 4 "main stages." We had a generator and some monitors in our camp this year and were blessed with sets by Ill-esha and Joe Mousepad, Jobot, K-Mo, Annunakii, myself and a few others.
Friday got to see sets by Stephan Jacobs, NastyNasty (best set of the event IMO), Goldrush, Sugarpill, ChrisB, Nicoluminous, Foobz.
Saturday was just all out madness. Saw sets by Phutureprimitive (sooo ill), RLS, Gladkill, ill-esha & mousepad, Virtual boy, Beat's Antique. Saw some incredible art by Alex Grey, Kofie and a slew of others that I can't recall by name. Ahh yeah Raja Hologram (seriously look this guy up, some super ill hologram artwork to get ya mind blown).
Sunday was the morning I got up and rocked a 2 hour set with some homies. Had mad heads from all over the camp grounds rollin through appreciating the tunes. Was pretty surreal to have people applauding and cheering and such to my own tunes. But that's what we did it for, for everyone to enjoy and get down to! Even had a surprise appearance by Lobo and Sonja tearing up some popping for myself and the rest of the party people. Bacon, chicken, apple cider, cold beer, vodka, l, it was a divine morning to say the least!
Ran into Tetris, Tronik and their camp during Paper Diamonds set, which was super sick by the by. We were chillin mid stage when this pretty good contact juggler rolled up and was doing some nice isolations that we were almost awestruck by. Tetris was murkin the tuts and animated ish. Tronik had those buttery waves that made me hungry for bread.
After Bonobo we went back to our camp and got the final night underway. Annunakii fired up the generator and threw down a set for a few hours until the sun came up. Was a perfect way to seal out the music part of the adventure.
Monday morning was cleanup time, and whilst not my favorite part of the event, it was sort of nice to be able to just clean, pack and kinda just chill and absorb the whole event. 5 days of incredible sounds, sights and people. The people made the event too good. And as I said before DoLab really out did themselves this year in every aspect!!
Hope to see some of you lot out there next year. It really is worth it, been going to festivals for a minute and there has been nothing in the past that could top what I experienced this year. And I have a feeling that it will just continue to get better and better.
