Saw these guys last December. Hated it. They have fallen fully into the whole "We are rock stars" pitfall, and the performance, although a unique experience overall, was NOT worth dealing with the inflated ticket price, and the ridiculous crowd was crammed into all night. Sonic Beating (my DJ Crew) was hosting the event, doing the decor etc., so I wanted to support, and Alex Grey was there, which was very cool, but I actually ended up in the upstairs lounge listening to the locals spin. Much better music, IMO. IM played very, very little actual EDM, choosing mostly vocal/guitar based stuff for their live show. I do so love their stuff off the first few records; alas they played exactly no tracks from anything before I'm the Supervisor. The guy just isn't a very good vocalist, and he seemed like an amateur on stage. He got fatigued before the end of each track. It's funny how the above description talks about how he coaxes vocals out of the audience... he is too unskilled in vocal endurance and breathing to make it through three tunes, let alone a full show! Of course he wants the audience to sing!
