I would feel guilty voting if I were not to attend. I mean in the end its what you decide. I think there are positives to both formats, and regardless of what is picked I think it will be dope!

The more I think about it ...the more I like the idea of trying something different .. passing the flow allows creativity and room for aggressiveness.

But I voted no because I dont think it should be a requirement to be judged on.  Shit if someone wants to take my flow at the end of my set or throw it back at me... then great I can take advantage of that and do something cool with it when they pass me the flow. Awesome, but that's just part of dancing. Do you want to interact with the other competitor or don't you? There are reasons for both approaches at different times.

But to me, this all falls under "dancing" just dance, judge on how well someone moves to the music and how creative they are when they flow.

i vote no as well was gonna post something about it earlier but its been a busy day.

i dont wanna end up spending time thinking about cheezy flow passes lol. i think if it does happen it should be favored but not anything of a focus. if that were the case i think most of the passes would just be kinda lame(this was my opinion of the 3way battle last year).

this random idea popped in my head earlier today, not to replace the pass thing but related to it, just throwing it out there: the person whos turn it is has to follow the concept/style/whatever etc that the last person ended with, whether it be orbital, threads, groundwork, etc. sorta like horse in bball, iono i think it would add a cool dynamic to the cypher thing and promotes a well rounded style. and i promise i wont pull out levers more than a couple times lol

This is basically an unwritten rule among some of the greatest battlers out there. Whatever they do, you do better, and then flip the script on them.

Good judging should always be looking for this in a 1v1 format.

I personally like the idea, it's one of the things that made me want to take part in this event. It's culturally relevent. It's the way we used to throw down at parties. If your ideas for flow passing are cheezy, well the fault lies on you, its only as cheezy or creative as you make it. I personally feel that as a liquid battle it should hold some sort of cultural relevence that makes it unique to the style. Back in the day when people did liquid in a circle at a party it was usually pass the flow, at least in my experience. The battles didn't start until the poppers and b-boys invaded the scene and started taking over the circles.

I voted yes, and Chris it would be a shame if you changed it now. To those that are in the battle and can't wrap their heads around how to pass the flow, well work on it. It just takes a little creativity and thought. To me it gives a chance to tell a story with your liquid, and show how creative you can be. Its that story telling factor that sets apart great dancers from good ones. "If your not informing your audience, then you're just a trickster."
