would any of you guys know why my vid would be choppy? this has to be a HD video right? I tried everything, downloaded twice, closed all other programs, torrents, reboot, quicktime updates... the vid is choppy no matter what.

lucas: imo, quicktime is one of if not the worst media players out there, espeically with regards to performance.thats likely whats causing the problem, try downloading the new version of vlc(http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) its got some new hardware acceleration stuff in it, and is alot more lightweight than quicktime

tiny: i'll try settin up somethin later today so you can download strait from me i'll send ya a pm

also to note, high definition footage is inherently CPU intensive. if your machine doesnt have at least a Core Duo (or equivalent) processor, i gauruntee the video/audio will be choppy.  that's just the name of the game when it comes to HD.

luckily when i send the footage over to youtube/vimeo, their servers handle a lot of those CPU cycles and additionally provide options to view in lower resolutions.  unfortunately i dont know of a codec atm that will let you do that for every day usage though.

this is exactly the reason why this footage waited 3 weeks before going out to people.  i've been saving to buy a NEW COMPUTER just so i could handle this kind of high definition rendering.  i'm trying to make our footage look as professional as possible and high definition is a large piece of that puzzle.

it was the player, thanks Tommy!

reflecting on the footage, i think what you captured on me is 10x the amount of other film i have out there. thanks again for documenting, means a lot. cringed at some of my stuff but i already know what i have to work on before perping it.

kai, tommy and distortion... you guys have some great shit on there.
