Alright...where to start....
First and foremost, I want to say thank you to everybody who came in for this. It was all of you traveling from lands far far away that made this weekend a truly amazing weekend.
Second, I want to apologize for being such a zombie Saturday night once we all came back to the house, my physical health started dwindling down at the actual event and continued to decline through the rest of night, I wish I could have contributed more at the after party, but I barely had the energy to stand, much less wiggle my arms or fingers.
That being said, big ups to Verb for being the mastermind behind all of this, he's the one person who was an absolute must for this year's Confluence to happen, without him, we all would have been S.O.L.
Congratulations to TMY, you truly are an amazing dancer and you have turned into one of my major inspirations to continue to push and push in this dance. That being said, don't think I won't hand you and/or PWT ya'lls asses in ping pong, you guys don't stand a chance.
Will and Richard, between you two and TMY, I've said it a million times this weekend, and I'm going to say it again, I'm sooooo glad I wasn't a judge for this, b/c this shit was so close it's not even funny. You guys did stuff with liquid that I have never seen before and may never see again. I aspire to dance as well as all of you one day but won't be disappointed if I only become half as good as you guys.
Shane, Matt, and Chico. You guys were the ones who kicked off my weekend with me arriving here first friday. I was sooo excited when you guys got here, I couldn't stop smiling. Shane, you are a machine dude, so clean and crisp in all of your movements, and it's pretty cool that you close your eyes a lot when you do your digitz, to me that shows that your truly feeling your movements as they come rather than trying to see what your going to do next. Chico, you are an amazing person and a gifted dancer. I loved watching your little locking set you did at Confluence and your liquid is good too bro. Thanks for smoking that Jon kid, I hate him and I don't throw that word around too often. Thanks for the waving help back at my house, I'll see you in April (and Jagger misses you already). Matt, what can I say about you man, your a genius, and that's not an exaggeration. I've never seen such a creative mind in dance as yours, so innovative and original, you've become a digitz legend in this world and will always be remembered as such to me. Thank you for judging, you had your work cut out for you and I feel like you guys did a great job.
David, you hernia having ass dude, you still got your skills man. Since the day we met up to now, you have always been an great mentor and friend to me. I'm so glad you and Jenny came, you are still an amazing dancer hernia and all. I can't wait for you to heal up b/c I know your going to come back stronger than ever. Can't wait to kick it with you again and I'm really happy we live so close together now. Can't wait to kick it with you again...it's going to be awesome!! Thank you for judging, as stated above, you guys had a tough task, and it took truly skilled practitioners of this dance to make fair and accurate decisions and you guys held true to form.
Jenny, what can I say, you rocked it out girl, not sure if your going to read this, but you did soooooooooo good, loved your set and I can't wait to have a copy of it to listen to so I can think of you killin up there over and over again.
Scott, I always have so much fun around you, glad you had good times on so many different aspects of this weekend. I wish I could have went with you guys Sunday night, but as you know, I really really needed my rest that day/night and it showed that it helped Monday I'm sure. I can't wait for you to come down here and kick it with us again as we talked about before you left. You have my number now, keep in contact and lets get you back down here to kick it again soon. PWT....you ASS, you and your secret weapon planned for my demise lol, I couldn't stop laughing at the fact that you went out of your way that much to try and take me down, I don't know whether to say thanks for considering me that much of a threat or fuck you for trying and take me down that hard...lol. I was so happy to see you this weekend man, you were one of the people that I was looking forward to seeing the most. Your presence as a person brings so much positive energy and motivation in this dance, you are truly an asset to this community. Thank you for helping me out, hopefully I will see you sooner than later but I'll talk to you today i bet lol.
The Chicago Crew, thank you all for coming down for this. You guys brought so much positive energy to this, I am so happy all of you could make it. It's so far, and you guys all said fuck it and came anyways, big ups to all of you for everything you do for this dance. Seeing all of you so close makes me want to move up there. Nene, thanks for the Irish themed cupcakes, you are an awesome person and I'm so glad you could make it down for this. I'll be seein ya soon I'm sure, maybe at DEMF? But for sure at UGS.
Newt, dude, your getting really good man, your progression is coming along a rapid rate. You keep kickin it with Mr. PWT and you guys are gonna wreck shop down there in Florida. I'm really glad we got a chance to kick it in person, hopefully we'll see each other again soon, until then keep working hard, I look forward to you rising up as one of the new stars in this community.
Kevin, what can I say dude, you smash faces when you play lol. It was good meeting you and I hope you had a blast here, it seems as if you did. You guys totally straight rockstarred the shit out of that hotel, that's how it's suppose to be. Thanks for the extra milkshake, it was amazing, hope you got enough rest and glad to know you guys made it back to Chicago safe. We'll cross each others path again one day I'm sure.
Cassie, you did an amazing job at this thing. I had no idea that you were so good. Thank you for competing, I'm so glad you decided to do it. Congratulations on the Vreeland Award, you earned it. I look forward to seeing you again. Keep up the hard work, and if you do, then I can only hope that I don't have to battle you next year.
And last, I want to say to Ashlyn, Thank you so much for being such a trooper this weekend. You didn't have to allow me to have all of my crazy, finger wiggling, arm waving, box making, shape shifting, gear grinding, lever turning friends party here all weekend, but you did, and not only did you, but you made it fun for me and everybody else. I couldn't have helped make this weekend a success without your support and you gave it to me 100 fold. Thank you for allowing me to bitch so much during the planning of the event, and especially allowing me to bitch so much the day of the event (I bitch a lot when I throw or help throw events b/c i get stressed out). Also thank you for letting Danny, Tommy, Ray, Chico and myself bing bong beers on the back porch. I know it looked like a phrat house that day, but it was necessary to get ready for the event that night. Your the best, you truly are.
