The only thing Hillary truly cares about is Hillary. It's quite obvious that she would destroy the Democratic party before she would give up her chance at the presidency.

I'd have to agree with most of the stuff said about Clinton vs. Obama.  At one point, I was leaning towards Clinton because I thought that, overall, her platform was more focused on policies which made sense to me (especially with respect to the nationalization of healthcare).  However, one of my friends pointed out though that politicians can really outline whatever-the-fuck kind of policies that they want, which are easily subject to change, and what we should really be paying attention to are key indicators of character for each candidate.  I guess I always thought that analyzing politicians' personalities was bullshit, since I heard so many people justify their support of President Bush with "well, he's just a great guy and he just seems like this and that, and I really like his style."  But I guess now that I think about it, my friend's point was valid - it just heavily depends on what actions of theirs you look at (I realized I was getting pissed off at people 'cause they were just waving their hands around about Bush = "nice guy + one of us").
So the problem now for me is that we have, on the one hand, Clinton who obviously is well-connected to corporate special interests, is not very transparent or honest about her experiences, and has a huge chip on her shoulder that she feels she has to carry around to prove her point (problem is that then I can't really tell whether she's just talking tough or she's actually going to pull some conservative-liberal compromise bullshit on important issues like the war and healthcare).  With Obama, the problem is that there just aren't many indicators of character at all, other than rhetorically, he's a candidate who's finally hit a sweet-spot with mainstream America, and that he stands for principles which have yet to be fully tested through the gaunlet of moral-gangbanging that is Washington politics.  So yeah, screw it, I'll take a bet on him because everyone else has either already proven that they are not my candidate, but I'm not going to be throwing my panties at him just 'cause I get a bit hot and bothered listening to his take on race relations in the U.S.

/my two cents
