2008 U.S. Election Discussion
« on: March 17, 2008, 03:16:46 PM »

Does anyone here follow this?  I get my news from reflective.  Is that bad? lol.

Normally I don't have an opinion on these kinds of things, as I'm not a fan of Democracy (slightly more a fan of our Democratic Republic, but...still a piss poor way to run things imo), but a few weeks ago I was in the kitchen and heard someone on the television and i thought "wait...is that morpheus giving his speech in the Cave scene?"

It was actually Obama speaking and I was really impressed.  He was talking about how we need get our asses out of iraq so we can start using that money for our own country to fix the potholes. ^.^  THAT'S what im talkin about, cuz quite frankly, the potholes in chicago are 100x more outlandish than ever this year and theyre creepin into the suburbs and it's pissin me off.  ^.^

But back to the point, when this man spoke, i honestly wanted to listen.  It didnt even matter what he was talking about, I was genuinely interested to hear him speak.  I got this vibe from him like he cared about what he was talking about.  Maybe that's just good acting, I'm not sure.

But yeah, what are your thoughts on the 2008 election?

I personally am throwing in with Hilary. Not that our votes at this point really even matter, but I feel she is the only person running who could even remotely begin to nationalize health care. Simply because Obama doesn't have enough connects. She's been fighting this battle for a long time. Also I would feel responsible if I voted and he was assassinated. Bad way to look at it, but the average American bloodtype is O  ;D

That is ridiculous, unless you plan on doing the shooting.

I can't stand Hillary for all the obvious reasons, so Obama or I'm not voting.

umm.....I was all about Ron Paul. All I can hope for now is John McCain not getting into office. I have zero feelings for Obama, I could really care less about him in fact. Hilary i'm not a fan of either.

I guess if i had to choose it'd be Obama, but the choices for this election suck like a 2 dollar hooker in Tijuana after you done found out she isn't a hooker but a mule tied to a broken down car on a back road.

It's easier for you to move to Canada than it is for most other board members.

Hillary Clinton received hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from doctors, hospitals, drug companies, and insurance companies for her 2006 re-election in the Senate, including several insurance companies that were members of the Health Insurance Association of America that helped defeat the Clinton Health Plan in 1994>>>>wikipedia

When ur recieving campaign funds from people who tried to shut u up back in 1994, you not getting nationalized healthcare. Also, I hate to say this without evidence, but I can't find what corporation, she received money back in 1994 from lobbyist who were opposed to the bill, soon as she realized it wasn't going to past without redrafting the bill or facing a major filibuster.

I personally don't like Hilary, she was CEO of Walmart from 1986-1992. I don't support someone who worked for a company that supported women's discrimination, as well as other obvious reasons Walmart is evil. I know some people really like Walmart, but I boycott it.
