Your favourite inspirational quotes?
« on: September 05, 2010, 01:55:47 AM »

Hey all, long time no see, but I'm back!

I put up a list of my favourite inspirational quotes on my dance blog, and it got me thinking if any of you would like to share the quotes that helped your understanding of dance (or life). Please share them in this thread, and I might include them on the site (with credit to the poster). It can be a quote from anywhere, not only dancing.

General Anthony McAuliffe surrounded by Germans in the Battle of the Bulge, WWII 1944. German army gave him a surrender ultimatum, to which he responded simply:  "Nuts"

Anyone who tells me to grow up, stop raving, dancing or acting silly whenever I damn well feel like it will get the same response.    =)

Could we, by training and practice, emancipate ourselves from Middle World, tear off our blindfold, and achieve some sort of intuitive, as well as just physical - understanding of the very small, the very large, and the very slow or fast? I genuinely don't know, but I am thrilled to be alive at a time when humanity is pushing the limits of understanding. Even better, we may eventually discover that there are no limits.

The two I'm using the most right now go...

"We all get the war we deserve"

and

"God is what everyone is and everyone is afraid to be"

been reading this one book, read this quote this morning

"I believe all sin, love, glory are this: when you slide down the knotted sheets, escaping from Gestapo headquarters, and she hugs you, there, suspended, and she whispers that she's always dreamed of you. The rest is just sex, copulation, the perpetuation of the vile species."

"The best thing about the internet is that people love to prove you wrong. So if you want information about something (historical or political) you just post something wrong on purpose and watch everyone deliver information to you just so they can show you how right they are. It's very effective."
