I dance b/c i can't draw...

It's funny but its true, I have an inability to transfer pictures that are in my head onto a canvas.  The music I enjoy creates cool visuals in my head, shapes, lines, whatever, kind of like closing your eyes while your tripping.  I find that liquid and digitz gives me the ability to show these things when they come to be.  It adds complexity through simplicity which in my opinion is amazing.

+1 ive tried my hand at a few artforms. despite the desire to create i never really fell into any of them as well as i have with liquid

When I dance to music, it's just the way my body moves. It feels like a natural expression to me. I interpret music as a flow.

Why do i flow, No one ever told me there was gonna be an essay question here. I guess the answer is easy to picture but hard to explain. I guess party of the answer is I just do. When the music makes me flow it just does. Before i would say it felt like engery was in my body and wanted to move me in a certain way to that kind of music. I really do think this goes a bit hand in hand why do i dance. It feel natural it feels like something is pulling and pushing me but not in a negative or over bearing way. Just need to groove and flow and show people what people can do. Maybe this sounds all corny. But I guess liquid was the first dance i really discovered and i moved on to other styles other teaching but Liquid was always there. influencing my movements and the start of something i never even really new I had inside of me. so i dunno maybe that was a co out answer but thats my answer i guess. Truth be know I love dancing the way it makes me feel. The joy it brings to people that i watch and maybe if i m lucky the inspiration i might give to just a few other dancers that might look up to me the way i look up so many of you. We are all teachers we are all students.

The music I enjoy creates cool visuals in my head, shapes, lines, whatever, kind of like closing your eyes while your tripping.  I find that liquid and digitz gives me the ability to show these things when they come to be.

Trying to express this more and just being chronically bored lead me to really get into liquid. I looked into VJing a little but decided that learning liquid would be easier than wrestling with software. I do some drawing, sometimes drawing music, but I feel a stronger connection to dancing.

I am wondering, is this ability to visualize music common to us that most people don't or can't do?

I also love the freedom and infinite possiblities offered by liquid. There is always a new way to move, you just have to think of it.
Plus, improvising is much more my thing than choreography.

Kind of. I am not very good at literally seeing what I imagine (although that has been getting better the last few years with some practice and help ;) ). To me and how my mind works it is more of an abstract conception of what it would be in this vision rather than it actually appearing in my field of vision.

i consider the motions i do more of a deconstruction of sound than moving *to* it. that consideration is based on a kinesthetic ability to feel sound in space.  some sounds are big and heavy, some sounds are light and fluffy.  can't see them though.

Thats really true kai.

I say i dance because it just makes me feel better. doing something really crazy and amazing gets me more relaxed, less stressed, and makes me feel alot better about myself.

Dancing is who i am, no matter what else i do. It is an expression of the soul i truly think. atleast i display the things i think about when i dance, even if it doesnt look like anything you could put into words
