the robotic side of levers seems like something pacman is exploring.  that is, using a mentally driven/sequenced force to move the levers around rather than an external physics system (like gravity for instance).  scott had mentioned that i should go this direction with levers over the winter.  i tried it out, it was fun, but im not sure if it's where i personally want to go.  kudos if you end up going for it though, it certainly has potential in its own right.

leave it to levers!

They get a lot of kudos in my book, been watching them manifest themselves in my dance pretty heavily these past few months.

as of now, i dont believe it's being worked at from a digits angle. the concept takes advantage of the possibility to pivot/swivel off the wrists, elbows and shoulders at the moment.  unfortunately the joints in the fingers dont have nearly the same range of motion to create the circles that the concept is built from.

I'm working on this in preparation for the conference. Or at least into my digital liquid. A MF'er cant talk shit without backing it up in skillz.

the posture he takes at 19 secs, could be used as a transitional point during his digitz using levers could it not?  I think this is how it could be incorporated into digitz, maybe not as actual digitz, but my original question is how could it be worked into digitz.

my idea with this is to use the elbow as the pivot point, complete the lever action, when the lever comes back up into the original position, move into digitz from that position (maybe finger waves) transition across the chest into the same posture on the the other side, use levers again....transition into whatever comes to mind after that...

I think of it kind of how i use box rails during digitz to shift positions...but instead using levers to do this and to add another element to digitz.

I was working on a concept for a while where the wrist acted as the pivot point that is created in tools such as pliers, i called it my tool concept, although it wasn't actually digitz, it opened up movements for me within digitz that I otherwise may not have had without incorporating that.  I think levers can offer that same factor to digitz without it actually having to be digitz.

it can definitely be worked in and out of digits.  i think both myself and tmy have ways of doing this presently.  i just think within digits (that is, confined primarily to the hands/fingers) i dont think the concept is feasible, but i'd be happy to be proven wrong.

mike: maybe try putting some of these ideas down on video?

I can't help but continually think how much more fantastical the floasis family would be if we all had cameras ;)

I think levers could be applied to digits but it would be more of an indirect relationship. Using one larger body part that can act as the lever to manipulate the fingers either in a waving pattern, or a concept that might be even more complimentary, rolls.
