hmm all i'd wanna say is that it should be mentioned SOMEwhere that liquid has a very subjective aesthetic. Everybody has their own idea of liquid, & dances it in their own way. Once a personal style has been established, everybody's style is so radically different from everybody else's.... For example ... compare Kai's style with Rush ....  or Evil North with Tommy  ....   or Tiger with Deviance .... or LPE with Phil lolz. Its so so so different from dancer to dancer.
There is no set technique like ballet that u can get 'wrong' ...   or even much of a set concept that u can misinterpret.

I think that's pretty important becoz its one of the reasons why liquid is so awesome.    freeeeeedommmmm!!!!!!

Very true. what I think needs to be found is the common factor that we all share. All these various styles. Liquid is kind of like martial arts to me, it's one single energy, one single vibe, one single overbering artistic process, but there are many different disciplines that draw from the energy and create their own auras, but they're all bound together by a single common reality. What the wiki should be is an explanation of this core ideology and energy and a map to all the various personal and universal disciplines that we see around the world(in California,Memphis,New York, Detroit,Goa,London,Japan)

**whoops i edited this post instead of replying too it, was a bit out of it yesterday :)** -tommy

Everyone on this site probably wants a TL;DR version but you will most likely be scaring away the lurkers that we want so badly to post. Reel them in slowly

tommy's reply------

once again i hear ya....buuut u have to realize this wiki is as much for the experienced dancers as the inexperienced ones. and dont forget the mentally unstable beginners like i was when i started, i would've read the entire wiki in one night no matter how big it was lol.

there will likely be some section just for beginners that will read something like the begginning of the lpc liquid tutorial vid but with more points.

cross-post, some thoughts from Greg Irwin:

Hello Kai,

I am sorry for my late response, but I did read your letter and appreciate your words greatly. I first really started to hear about Liquid and Digits three or four year when when I posted a video on Superhandz.com and called it EXTREME DIGITS. I felt doing my finger dancing as fast as possible was taking it to more of an extreme so I called it Extreme Digits. A few people emailed me then tell me about Digits. A couple of people were a little upset as they felt I was steeling their movement or something or trying to take credit for something they were doing - which I had not intended to do at all.

I can honestly tell you that most of what I developed on my own. I feel my type of finger dancing - finger ballet - digital dancing  - extreme digits is very straight ahead compared to what you guys do. I have watched some of the videos and have been inspired myself. I have not studied it but feel if I really did it could give me some very good ideas. I consider the Finger Fitness exercise program I have put out to simply be a way to structure all of the movements of the hand into a series of exercises that makes sense. When I watched some of the video from DIGITS I think it is so cool. I think what you guys do is more mental, very very COOL! I do feel if some of you digital dancers would incorporate some of the bending and splitting routines it could ROCK even more.

I was also in contact a few years before that with a couple of people who were doing digits. I did my first Finger Ballet on the Tonight Show in November of 1988. I developed it early that Summer for the first video I put out called "The Art of Finger Control" .

You can see a lot of these videos at www.youtube.com/gregirwin2008

I hope this helps. I would be happy to answer any questions you have and help or assist you guys in anyway.

Have a Happy Holidays!

wiki wiki scribble scratch..

I know I am still a young seedling within this community, so I don't expect to hold a bunch of weight in this.  But know I am willing to contribute and would like to be a part of the chat. If and when it goes down.

well i figured it'd be easier to flesh out the prelim stuff over kai's crib but i guess i'm not commin over tomorros, he says its not big enough for us to get down, and i'm not driving 40+mins to not-dance =x. so i guess we can start gathering up dates for a first meet goin.

i'm free WHENEVER cause i'm a fuckin bum. with possible exceptions on saturday night/sunday morning, but i assume thats not gonna be the meet time.
