Moar practice..
« on: March 06, 2009, 02:28:32 AM »

I tried to keep the spring cleaning clip to one concept. I recorded this the same night.

It's some other stuff I've been workin and I could use some feedback. Thx and peace....-Rocky

nobody commented on this and u requested feedback so i thought i might say a few things.

looks like ur really using isolation as the basis of ur movement in this clip. But ur not isolating very well.

I can get an idea of the movement ur trying to achieve.... i think u should just hibernate for a month or 2 and really bust ur ass to get ur isolations up a couple levels.
You can't rely on isolation for ur dance if ur isolation isn't particularly deep, strong, controlled or clean.
So yeah, i would say just work really hard to develop your isolation and stops.

You also sway ur weight back and forth a lot. WHich actually creates a rhythmic tidal effect which is kinda trippy.
But yeh try to do NOT that as well.

anyhoo.... keep it up dude

2 things i would focus on judging from this clip:

-do some mirror  practice and clean up ur angles, do liquid, pause, ask urself is that the cleanest angle u can present with that movement, if its not, back up a few ticks and repeat that movement again till u get it right.

-as sifi said, isolation, but i'm more worried abut the arm isolation than anything else, your armflow needs alot of work at this point imo, try this exercise: doing all the liquid you do but with your torso completely still, dont turn or bend over, you can lower urself with ur legs tho. you can move ur shoulders but try to limit them from popping up or breaking the horizontal plane with ur back, this is what i do to get my arms used to moving on their own rather than with assistance from ur body, if ur using tension and doing it right u will feel it in ur chest/back/sideabs.

you have the perfect torso to frame liquid around your chest.  you're starting to do it, but your hands are too close allow for it to work as a frame.  Watch 1:23 - 1:32:
