full on progression to geometric body style
« on: February 02, 2011, 02:55:45 PM »

Bam! I'm done with a lot of robotic stuff for right now. It's time to move on in the name of progress for 2011. I've been playing with this idea of geometric body positions for awhile. I was complaining about how tutters just use their arms a lot and stand there (kind of like liquid dancers lol). But complaining is futile. So I've taken it upon myself to push this idea forward. There's no way honestly I can compete with a turfer or flexer who can do bone break tuts. That's been my motivation. So instead I'm going the other unexplored direction. I feel as excited about this as i did when I changed my digits a few years back to make them into my own style. I think I can make this style distinctly mine.

Anyways playing around with the idea with liquid tuts and waving mixed together with the geometric body positions:

Nice! ... I'm doing stuff kinda like what you did from :53 to :57  ... pushing points into corners and then using them as an axis ..... I've been tracing my way there whereas you came in on a diagonal .... I like the new direction .... thx.

There is no actual basis for this comment but, since the ball scene , club kids and ravers were all packed together in NYC clubs you think its possible the liquid was influenced by this? I mean vogue defiantly has flow and symmetry..

case in point,

Arms Control Performance Vogue

Definitely  a lot of ideas in that video.....

i dunno about liquid... flow and symmetry can be found in any dance.

what about flexing/turfers/etc? cuz this shit is straight up their tutting on the original tip.

Birdage, good ideas, but my theory on really Improving on your dancing is to get out of sow carolina andtraveling to the westcoast or ny. Or where there is a good scene.

I feel like you're one of those people who vibes of people really well, cause I'm like that.
