I'm not sure if anyone else is watching the new season of ABDC but there's a flexing crew on there. Here's their performance from last night..

So, when i posted this I had only watched that first interview clip of the guy with the dreads.  But after watching that second clip of the dude in sunglasses, I have a little more respect for these guys.  He was bascially saying that most of the young turf dancers dont even have a foundation and are biting movements from other styles and callin it turfin.  So imma do some huntin and see if I can find some clips of someone turfin that actually has been been doin it for a while. Someone that doesn't look like they are simply gliding, waving, and boogin in an "unorthodox" way.

On that same channel as those two videos is a bunch of instructional foundations for turfing. There's a bunch more of these too. Nothing to do with popping imo.

I def see some floating & gliding maneuvers in here. I wouldn't say it directly relates to poppin in the sense of hittin. But I see those movements in these foundational clips. I even see some boogaloo-esque movements here. Not actual boog movements but U can the influence and given the era that this dance surfaced they probably did see these boog dancers and kids gliding n decided to flip it and switch it up to their own thing. Nothing wrong with that tho, as long as im not lookin at some guy doin strait up floats, glides, waves, and modern hip hop moves mashed together sloppily then I'm all about it.

First: that hat trick was next level. I couldn't stop laughing XD

Second: How cool of a name would Storyboard be?!

Also: Those turf tutorials were dope.
If any of you have Netflix, check out the documentary "Ghostride the Whip" (available to watch instantly, btw), about the Bay Area hyphy movement. It covers Turfin' w/ some level of detail--shows "the bird", the "swabbage patch", the "thizz face", etc.

I <3 the thizz face.

Also hyphy music is the shit; check out this podcast for some dope mixes: http://popthattrunk.wordpress.com/

also also also--> (in before someone posts the first ever ghostride the whip w/ digitz remote control style clip >.> )

That is all u.u
